If your guitar does not sound as fantastic as you would like it to, you can upgrade your pickup. You can increase the quality and power of your sound. If your favorite guitarist uses a particular pickup you might not be doing yourself a favor by switching to the pickup your role model uses. The sound of your guitar is the result of the combination of the pickups with the other materials that the guitar is made from. If you are familiar with how to use a screwdriver and a soldering iron, chances are you will be able to handle swapping over a guitar pickup. Before you buy a new pickup you might want to check that you can return it if you are not happy with the sound.
